Cando was fortunate to have an opportunity to procure some of this year's speaker gifts from artisans from accross Canada. Read their bios below:
Corine Nielsen, Summer Winds Creations
Corine Nielsen is an Artisan of many talents. She has been creating art since before her son (now 35) was born.
Corine Nielsen learned the art of stain glass from her late husband Brian Nielsen. The two created art and owned and operated a stain glass shop for 30 plus years. Corine continued creating stain glass pieces even after the two decided to sell their business.
The lovely Mrs. Nielsen has been working with beads creating earrings and using other materials and mediums to create unique and wonderful works of arts.
Her art has splashed the covers of magazines and made it into newspapers, gracing her works. She has worked with her son to develop and manage their own line of one of a kind mittens. No two pairs of mittens are alike.
Corine is commonly known to others as Cory or Kuhkum, she has enjoyed a great life being creative. Inspired by her love the Art and the love of her grandkids, to continue to teach others through her art. She calls her company “Summer Winds Creations”
Corine works to establish herself as a native artist by teaching and telling a story through her art. She remains on her journey to teach people about her culture, her art and her love.
